Hello All!
On Michael's 2nd to last weekend here the kids and I took him to the Renaissance Festival here in Phx. I personally have never been to one of these and really didn't know what to expect. The kids also had their doubts but I kept telling them that they were going to really like it.
Upon arriving I knew that we were in for a treat. As you walk through the gate there are men above you yelling and heckling you and as soon as you walk under them you are instantly taken to a totally different era.
Joscylin immediately discovered that any lady she walked up to in a big gown would ask her name and then call her "Princess Joscylin". Austin wasn't so easily impressed and took a little longer to warm up to the idea that everyone there talked and dressed funny, but by the end of the day (7 hrs later) even he was not ready to go. Gavin... he was in heaven! What 8 year old wouldn't be in heaven throwing TOMATO'S at a guy sticking his head out of a hole!!!
At the end of the day we watched 4 "Knights" fight to the death (shh... it wasn't real) in a tournament which was very impressive. Although, Joscylin didn't really like the fake blood and was near tears until it was finally over and she saw all of the dead Knights get up and bow to the crowd.
